been on the board for quite a while - never introduced
I'm groovey, self taught mediocre quilter. sure love it. The board has been great. I'm from Utah, prefer quilting alone but wonder about getting with others, it seems so many have much to share.

Well Hello from Corpus Christi, Texas. This board (to me) is like an encyclopedia for quilters, seamstresses, tailors any thing to do with just about everything.

Welcome from Michigan!:)

There's no reason you can't get together with other quilters, even if there's none where you are, you could possibly start a group, or maybe a group for new quilters, personally, I prefer to quilt by myself, but everyone has their own "thing".

Howdy from Oklahoma! It is helpful to have another eye on my quilting so sometimes I take a project to my Quilts of Valor group & get a second opinion from those fabulous quilters. I have avoided many pitfalls with their help & have found ways to quilt faster from them. Hopefully, one day I'll pay it forward & be able to help a new quilter!

Welcome to the board.
It's a great place.:) |
Welcome from Louisiana:) I too prefer to quilt at home. I do get together with a small quilt guild a couple of times a month and we do a road trip 2 or 3 times a year. Just a day trip to a small quilt show and then hit 2 or 3 quilt shops. Quilters are the best!

I'm not much for group activities myself, but have really learned a lot from my guild, even if I don't show or tell much. As you get involved, remember that each group has it's own personality based on history of the group and members, so if one group doesn't feel like a match, look for another - or as one gal said - start your own.

Note to all who say they don't know enough - because you're on this board, you know a little more than someone who isn't on the board...we all have something we can contribute to someone - if you/I feel that we can't contribute to one person or group, remember that there's always someone that needs to know what you already know - and that's passing it on.

Hi from North Dakota. Hope you enjoy your time here. personally I have learned so much from reading the posts on here. A whole bunch of enablers for my sewing machine collection.

Well, now, you described me pretty well. Except I don't think I'm quite as mediocre as I used to be!
I quilt alone, but belong to two guilds. It's a comfortable fit for me. Welcome! |
