Welcome to our quilting family. As far as I know we aren't doing a pieced block exchange but there are several 4 or 6 inch square pieces of material that are being exchanged. What kind of block are you thinking of? If it is something that is not already being offered just start a new topic and I'm sure that you will get lots of takers. I think that it would be really neat to do a pieced block exchange. That way you could make a sampler quilt. I'm in if that is what you decide to do.

Morning Sew N' Snow,
Welcome to the best group on the net! We all like to exchange things here, check on the Classifieds/Fabric Swap board and if you don't find what you're looking for there.....start a block exchange. We're happy to have a chance to share and care there.

Hope to see more of you and that you'll share pictures with us on the picture forum.
Happy Quilting,
Sharon

You could go to the classified section and start a new topic and state that you are interested in starting a block exchange, what size, type etc... block and ask for input in getting it started. I am sure you will get some answers/feedback on the subject. Maybe more interest after the holidays, though?

I would love to join a block exchange. We just finished one here at a local group and will be exchanging them at our Christmas party on the 15th.
How we did ours was we gave each participant a fat eighth of our focus fabric and let them know what size block we wanted back. Each person then chose fabrics from their own stach to make the blocks from the focus fabrics. Of the 47 in our group 18 participated. Our rules are must join and have fabric to everyone by Feb 1 and have your colpleted quilt for "Show n Tell" at our July meeting the following. Example we exchange our finished blocks on Dec 15 2007 and will complete them by July 2008. This is the second year of this exchange. It sure was fun to see what everyone did with their blocks. Sky's the limit on what you can do; quilts with interesting settings and/or sashings, potholders, placemats, table runners, pillows, table toppers and even window valences and curtains.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
