Hi, I live in the middle of Kansas with my DH and two cats. I've sewn for a few years but nothing too complicated. About a month ago I saw some fabric
(http://www.northcott.net/?sid=2&layo...93&colorid=645)
I just couldn't resist. It told me it wanted to be made into a quilt for my new niece to be, due date is May 2! Very excited to see her. I found an adorable pattern
(http://www.thenoblewife.com/item_102...lt-Pattern.htm),
and am now sewing on the borders. I haven't even finished my first quilt and I think I'm hooked! I plan on outline quilting it with my walking foot. Wish me luck!

I think the only advice I'm qualified to give is links to some very helpful sites. quilting.about.com has a learn to make a quilt section that I think is wonderful. Sewmamasew also has some good tutorials.

The Missouri Star Quilt company has some neat video tutorials on youtube that I find very inspirational. I'm really frugal about fabric, but I love that they plainly explain steps, and don't assume you know a lot to begin with.

In any case I'm sure you are and will be brilliant at it. I count myself lucky being entertained :)
