Hello from North Central Arkansas. I have been reading all the posts and learning so much for the last month or so and finally decided to introduce myself. I retired 7 years ago and started enjoying a "hobby" that my wonderful aunt introduced me to. I never hand or machine sewed, barely knew how to thread a sewing machine, am terribly slow with any type of hand work, etc. so started out just trying to make a straight seam and seem to still have problems with that. I have a huge stash of fabric, books, notions, etc. but only get a few quilts made. I seem to like to pet fabric, collect gadgets, read quilt books and dream of that big quilt in my future. Despite my internal protests, since being signed up on the quilting board, and thanks to all you wonderful ladies (and gents), my list of "want to make" quilts have increased and my stash is ever growing. I just can't seem to resist rushing to the on-line store when one is mentioned and start searching for patterns and fabric after viewing one of your wonderful creations. I expect to continue learning and being inspired by this wonderful group and hope to be able to ocassionally contribute. Thanks for listening.

Welcome from cold Western PA. I retired 2 years ago and it's been amazing!! I love to sew everyday--try just a little everyday and pretty soon you'll be making that big quilt! Ask any questions; people here are kind and very, very talented.

welcome from cold NH. It sounds as if you are already the quilting addict. Just jump in, pick and easy pattern and your most favorite colors. Plan a little, get a flannel backed tablecloth hang it on a wal and you will be amazed what beautiful things you can make. jump in!
