Complete Beginner in Ireland
Hi all.
As the title says I'm a complete beginner. Ive never quilted anything before but it's something that's fasinating me lately and I want to give it a go. All I've done so far is sign up for a local charm pack club. Got some beautiful squares but don't really know what to do with them, hence me finding this forum through google. Im sure I'll find tons of inspiration here. Some of you have the most fabulous quilts pictured at to make something half as good would be my goal at the moment. Being a single mammy with two kids might make this a slow process but I'm willing to give it a go. I'm sure I'll be back with lots of questions. |

Welcome Daisy
You will enjoy quilting ..it has been a life saver for me.. keeps me going and learning.. go to Moda Bakeshop... yes it is for quilting... here is the web site.. http://www.modabakeshop.com/ go to the recipes sections and look at the patterns for charm squares.. they name their cut fabrics after food items that is why they call it a bakeshop...like jellyrolls are 2.5 inch wide strips, they have turnovers (triangles) they have layer cakes etc.... you get the idea... makes you hungry just looking at the patterns..LOL!! This is a good place for you to start with ideas on how to use the charm squares. Welcome!! hugs quiltinmama |
