Excited
I just bought my third quilting machine. It's a used Gammill Vision 18. I started with a Viking Mega Quilter in 2005. In 2007 I bought a Tin Lizzie, it was a good machine, but I longed for a smoother ride that could do more. I took a leap of faith and sold Lizzie this summer and waited until I found "the deal." I can't wait to go pick up my new machine.
Retiring after 36 years teaching, I am really enjoying the luxury of sewing almost every day. The time to read and browse forums is another thing I am enjoying. I look forward to getting to know you all. |
Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Congratulations on your dream machine.:)

Hi from Ohio!

Congratulations on retirement ( starting my sixth year with no regrets ) and your new machine. My best quilting buddy and I just purchased a HQ Avante with Pro Stitch. We are so excited. Only drawback is she lives 1 1/2 hours away and we had it set up in her basement. So I will go there probably on Wednesdays and stay a few days. I have a Janome 1600P w new stitch regulator and Grace frame to sell now. She has a similar setup with a Pfaff. Look forward to seeing your finished quilts :)

I am on the other end of the spectrum. Picking up my Mega Quilter with Inspira Frame tomorrow! I've rented time on long arm machines and stumbled over what I think is a great deal! Excited too! Perhaps I will graduate to larger machines in time!

Congratulations on both your retirement and your new machine! Isn't retirement wonderful?! I went from having no time for myself to feeling like I have all the time in the world, and I just relish it. I'm finally getting back into quilting again. Trust me, I had no time when working. Enjoy yourself, and welcome from sunny Nevada!
