Hi,
My name is Kathy and I have some flannel and regular quilting fabric I would like to donate. I live in Chaska, MN and maybe some of you have an idea as to where I could take it. Most of the flannel is for children and would make great baby quilts. I would prefer to give to an organization or individual that also donates the finished quilts. Thanks |
You can also contact a local quilt store to see if they do donation projects, or if there is a quilt guild that could use the fabric, or even a ladies church group. God Bless you for 'paying it forward'.

Hi Kathy,
Check with your local Senior Center. The one near me accepts fabric donations and also donates the finished quilts. |

Hello. You can also donate to Quilts for Kids. They accept fabric donations, which will be made into quilts and donated to kids in the hospital.
www.quiltsforkids.org/volunteer/ The following excerpt is taken from their website. "If you are someone with a stash of fun child-oriented fabrics: Is there fabric taking up valuable space in your closet that you intended to use in a quilt or other craft project? Don’t feel guilty about not doing the project—donate it to us to be made into quilts for the children we serve. You can even take a tax deduction for this! Send the fabric to headquarters or contact your local QFK chapter. Fabric has to be “new,” unused, and not clothing or draperies, etc." |
Quilts for Kids is a Great place to donate to they really use all pieces.

Kathy, there is a lady on this board who makes dolls that she donates to given to be kids with cancer. I can't find her post but I just read it a little while ago. It was something like Quilted but Not a Quilt. She could use the fabric. Hopefully someone will read this message and send you the information need to get in tough with her.

Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida!!
I just read a post on here earlier about a member needing fabric for the quilts she's making for Quilts for Kids!! I didn't save it, but maybe somebody can direct you to her post! The board member's name is" karenchi", send her a pm and she'll be more than happy to take it off your hands. What a kind thing you're doing with the Pay It Forward. |

Hello Kathy
Greetings from England. I know that Project Linus UK grew out of the Project Linus in USA. We make quilts for sick and disadvantaged children so are always looking for fabric. I'm not suggesting that you send it to England but I'm sure that if you google Project Linus, that you will find someone not too far from you who would be very grateful for a donation. Very best wishes, Jacki |
