Please tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been quilting? What is your favorite color?

I'm a new quilter that was in hooked from my first quilting class that a friend talked me into taking. I started with a rag quilt, graduated to a patchwork quilt from flannel, and now I'm looking forword to doing my first grownup quilt. I love pattern and color, and now I even have an impressive fabric and pattern stash for a newbie! I'll probably be whinning for help from time-to-time though! I have been watching the message board for a couple of weeks and I'm impressed with the wealth of knowledge, kindness, and generousity of all the members. Thanks for your warm welcome!

Welcome to the board. I know your area very well. I am a San Diego native! Lived in the So.CA area until we retired to Eastern WA 5 years ago. I did a lot of field work, in North Co. My last 20 years of work was downtown San Diego. 7 years before we both retired we bought a home in Murrieta. Long commute, but worth it. I love the quilt stores in that area and Old Town Temecula.

My sister-in-law and family live in Escondido. We were there last year, and I am so sorry I didn't make it to Eleanor Burns store.

The quilting shops in this area are awesome. Quilt In A Day is one of my favorites, and always inspires me. I retired over a year ago and I'm doing all those things on my fun list that were 'some day' projects. Now I seem to be all consumed with quilting and it has become my new passion. Why didn't I know how fun this was years ago??
