Former member from several years back

Took me awhile to register in but hey I am now on here. A quilter of about 30+ years. A widow of 28 yrs. Live in Largo, FL. in a Retirement Center for the past 2 yrs. I love applique most of all, keeps my hands really busy. Working on "Its Not Easy To Be Green" right now with appliqued frogs. Also making Hexies for my Grandmother's Flower Garden. and recently made numbers out of material, batting, backing about 9" in size for my newest great granddaughter Christmas present. Marge

Texas welcomes you back. Sounds like you are staying busy with your quilting. We would love to see pictures. I made some numbers & alphabets several times for baby gifts & the moms always loved them. Can we see yours? You will enjoy it here but I have to warn you....this board is addicting! :)

Welcome from South Louisiana.

Welcome back, I'm a newer member.

I really marvel at the hand work some people do, or even machine applique. It's just not something I'm good at, it's not the way I think. When my son was little and I took him to quilt shows with me, he always pointed out the applique quilts as his favorites first.. But I love seeing what other people do!

You mentioned alphabets in your post, I have been trying to find these letters about 6-9" or so to make her for her 2nd birthday next July. I want to print the patterns off but no luck with stencils or etc. Need block type letters. One place I had found some when it printed off the background was all black which I am sure was using up my ink!! Ugh
I must take some photos on my cell phone and see about uploading them on here, not sure how to do that but will give it a try at some point. Thanks for the response. Marge

Thank you I have never been to Louisiana but as a navy wife traveled to many states including Hawaii.

Good Morning Iceblossom, neat handle. Bet if you gave applique a try you would love to do it. I taught my daughter and DIL to quilt over the years and they enjoy it also. Stay warm up there in Seattle.

Hi, from Jax Bch. I've done 2 quilts in applique. The one I really like was flip flops. My DH wears flip flops all the time. I made it for him, and believe it or not he likes it. You'll like this site!
