Another SHO-ME welcome - this one coming from Lebanon. I just washed over 200 pieces of batik - some fat quarters, most were 1/2 yard pieces. Hand washed in a kitchen dish pan with a few drops of liquid detergent, swished the fabric around very gently and gently wrung it out, rolled it out in a towel and let it sit a bit - then smoothed it out onto a clothesline in the house and let it dry. Have not ironed any of it yet though. HTH
