Hello, and welcome from Michigan!
|
Hi and welcome from N.E.Ohio.
|
My local quilt guild, amazing civil war quilts. the friendship quilt that lasted, even the names! 150 years ! Who knew ! The ink at the time could have been the ink sold for quilt fabrics. That was available at the time.
The pens that are sold at JoAnns or any quilt shop, as long as it is for fabric, and permanent. Good luck, have lots of fun ! Ell |

also, the Ohio Star is one that has a big block. there are other choices here. the one I saw from Civil War, strips used with signatures. each block was then a strip block. signature bottom corner to top corner, 1/3'd top a color, middle third ( all diagonal) signature with cream background, bottom 1/3 a color of differant than top. think diagonal bottom point of square to top right point. |

Hello from San Gabriel, California

The first one I did was the friendship star. It looks very nice and you get a star but it is not too many pieces or too hard.

Welcome from Mid-Missouri.

For signatures, use pigma pens. They have them at quilt shops and craft stores.
