Welcome! I'm from Alabama. Haven't done a lot of quilting, but have pieced several tops. I do have several sewing machines and 3 embroidery machines plus a serger. I bought a long arm Gammil, but haven't learned how to use it yet. Welcome to the forum.

Gday, I am back and searching for Christmas Bonbons. Has anyone had a go at making them.

Would love to see your ideas or sites of interest for Christmas Bonbons in the making.

Thanks heaps. :)

woody 09-15-2010 06:10 PM

Hi Penny, I make Bonbons every year for my family, you can buy the cracker part from craft stores (if you have a spotlight near you they used to have them) or occasionally you can find kits with everything you need including the very lame joke and silly paper hats from discount stores, I love that you can personalise the gift inside.

If you put this question as a new subject in the general chit-chat you will probably get more replies.

thanks heaps, i will do just that. I do have a Spotlight near buy, also going there tonight. I did make them last year, was looking for some new ideas.

thanks again :)

gday Moonglow,

I use to live near the Gold coast, 12 years ago. I was a stretch Limo driver. I do miss sunny Qld though. Would love to move back, there or Western Australia, that is where my sisters are.
What quilting projects are you doing. I have started Xmas ones, hope i get them finished in time. LOL.

pennyj123 09-18-2010 04:15 PM

Gday Deb, thanks for the welcoming. I do love this site, everyone is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. I don't get much time here, but am trying to catch up.

What sort of work do you do to be self employed. I would love to work from home. I could sneak in some play time, (patchwork/quilting). :)

Hi pennyj123 Yes I'm also doing Christmas projects in addition to a big project with another quilter. I was in the Australian Air Force many years ago and we are having our 60th Anniversary reunion in Brisbane in late January next year so we are doing a commemorative quilt to raffle.
We may have 'crossed paths' as I used to work nights and weekends at the newsagency at Jupiters Casino! I was there from 1990 to 2005. Cheers.

The commemorative quilt sounds like fun, is there a few of you doing it. How big are you going with it. My husband and i were in the Navy, only i was only in for 13 months. i was too much of a home body and felt home sick. LOL.

Keep in touch. Penny :)
