What is the best way to cut circles and to sew them onto you fabric.

I would cut a circle out of firm plastic or cardboard of the exact size you want the circle to be. Cut the fabric circle bigger and then baste around it. Center plastic circle on the fabric circle, then draw the basting thread tighter and then spray and iron it. Then you can take the inner circle out and applique it onto the quilt.
Hopefully this is not too confusing.

i draw the circle on interfacing, put fabric right sides together, sew all the way around. carefully cut slit into interfacing in the center. turn right side out and use whatever tool you have to run around the seam line from the inside. i use the blunt end of a nut-picker, or you could use a crochet hook. then press the circle and then i sew it in place using regular stitching on my machine. you could hand sew also if you do not want stitching lines showing.

Greetings from the Sacramento CA area. I posted a tutorial on using freezer paper and glue a while back. Not sure if it's easy but it works for me.
