Welcome from Western Colorado! Keep practicing your free motion quilting, you'll get better and better! Relax and have fun with it, I found, after MANY years of free motion quilting, that using quilting gloves helps immensely. They give you so much more control of the quilt. I also try to originate the motion from my torso instead of my hands, it seems to help to keep the stitches more consistent and it's much less tiring.

Welcome aboard, you will learn so much from the many people on the QB. I have. From practicing with sheets, blankets etc... purchased from op shops for the free motion quilting.
I like the sound of dhanke experience, " I also try to originate the motion from my torso instead of my hands" can get exercise while sitting down also. Great

Thanks for the tip. I will try it. My shoulders always get so tired. Moving from my torso will make a big difference. I will let everyone know how it works out.
