Greetings from the Methow Valley in Washington
Hi, all! As a relatively newbie quilter (less than a year) but a long time sewer, I am sew glad to have found this board. I live in the beautiful Methow Valley in Washington where summers are hot and dry and winters are cold and snowy. My mother and sister are both quilters and finally convinced me to take up this fun hobby. I'm having fun with EQ7 and am trying to decide if I want to invest in a long arm machine or not. I'm trying to teach myself free-motion quilting on my home machine but still need a lot of practice and a frame to go with it.
I look forward to reading your posts and learning more about quilting. |
I hear it's beautiful up there. The farthest I have been up that way is probably Seattle. Do you have a view of Baker?

Hi and welcome from Kentucky! My husband is an over the road trucker and his fav place to go is Washington and Oregon. The pics he sends me are beautiful. I plan on riding with him next year and look forward to enjoying your state.

Hello! Welcome from SW WA!!!

Welcome from central Florida. I was lucky enough to find a quilt shop that will let me rent their long arm machine. I found that it is just as difficult to quilt free hand on the long arm as it is on my home sewing machine. In fact, I think I can control my home sewing machine better. The only way I would invest in a long arm is if I bought the automatic patterns and then I would have to quilt professionally to pay for it. Then I wouldn't have time to play around with my quilts. Good luck and I hope you enjoy this board.
