Hi, everyone! This looks like an awesome board! I'm pretty new to quilting and so glad to have found such a friendly, helpful-looking place!
I'm Alexis, and I'm 32 and the mom of two little guys. (Matthew just turned 2, and Eli is almost 4 months.) I made my first quilt for Matthew when he was about six months old; it was from a kit I saw at Joann's, and it turned out pretty cute -- though it's hardly a paragon of quality workmanship! After Eli was born, I wanted to make a quilt for him, too, but I thought I'd do it right this time and sign up for a beginner's class at Country Stitches in East Lansing. (It's a HUUUUUGE quilt shop with about a gazillion classes.) I'm halfway through the class and am having SO much fun -- I can't wait to make bunches more stuff! Anyway, I'm excited to get to know all of you and learn more about quilting :) |

Thank you for the warm greetings, everyone!
Machel, I just love Country Stitches! They have so much stuff there, and the ladies at the store are always so nice and helpful! I hear there's a really cool quilt shop in Portland now called Around the Block, but I haven't been there yet. Sewjoyce, I am always happy to oblige and show off pictures of my babies, LOL! That's Eli in my sig. Here's another one of him, with my husband: And here's Matthew, carrying Elmo in his doll sling :) |

Your kitty is darling! Is he/she a Himalayan? Yes, he is a Himalayan -- his "formal" name is Emile but answers to nothing but his food being served..... |
That sounds familiar! (We have three kitties of our own.)
