Welcome to the Board. I've used fusible batting on small projects only, like handbags and small wall hangings. At that size, 3% shrinkage isn't enough to do anyhing except soften the look of the item but I actually never washed any of the items that I used it with. I wouldn't want to attempt to fuse a batting onto a large item such as a full-sized quilt; too much room for error. And when you start quilting an item, whether by hand or by machine, a batting that won't "give" at all in relation to your pieced top, could be problematical. There will be a lot of good information here. You'll enjoy the board and fine it useful. I still learn something new practically every time I sign on!
