Greetings from West by God Virginia!
I just found this board looking for ideas to replace the flooring in my quilting studio. I work full time, have lots of furry and feathered friends to take care of, but with support from my DH I still find time to quilt. I have been quilting for over 30 years, but find that I never stop learning. I'm very excited to find this forum to meet quilters from all over the country (or maybe even the world!).

LOL @ your thread title! My Mama is from "real" Virginia and always says "west by God" when she refers to WV. No one in Illinois has ever understood that.
Welcome to the board and thanks for my morning smile. |

dhusband built me a quilting room onto the house and we used the laminate floor in there: Love It! Easy to Swiffer, wither dry or wet and it still looks good after several years now. Also replaced my bedroom floor with laminate and like it there also. Allergies made me decide I did not need carpet. delma |

Definitely use a laminate or something similar. Super easy to dust up the threads and lint from sewing. I have had
both carpet and laminate and there is no contest which is best, as far as I'm concerned. I actually use a Swiffer mop handle and base but cut pad from batting scraps instead of buying the manufactured product. Cheaper, uses the scraps, and performs just as well. |

My DH is the swiffer king! He loves to swiffer - says it's relaxing. Anyway, I will pass on your tip about using batting scraps. I never throw them away, but hadn't figured out what to do with them yet.
