I am in Wisconsin after having been in Vermont for seven years, Boston for about 15 years before that, and Northern New York State as a child.

This is the first time I have not had a job outside the home in 30+ years and I have started using my time to quilt. I mostly use people-powered machines and love my treadle!

I have two teenagers (Aargh!), three cats, one dog and one husband.

Hi Jane,
I lived in Green Bay for three years with a military husband. I loved the friendly people, the weather (NOT!!!), and all the chances to see the Packers play.

You've come to an addicting site and I'm glad to meet you!
Happy Quilting!
Sharon

I live in Eau Claire. Where are you?

Flying_V_Goddess 04-05-2007 03:17 PM

Black River Falls, WI

Jane 04-09-2007 12:26 PM

I had to actually look up where Black River Falls is located. I am still not very familiar with Wisconsin geography I am afraid. The fact that we now live in the midwest is still a little strange to us even after 2-1/2 years!

Flying_V_Goddess 04-09-2007 12:41 PM

Oh, I didn't know you haven't lived in the area for a long time so I had assumed you knew Black River Falls was an hour away from Eau Claire. My bad.

Hello from a nother wisconsininte. I live in milwaukee. Everyone has heard of that. I am also new to the web site. I quilt with my mom and my aunt. mom lives in milw. also and my aunt lives in rib lake, witch is near wasau. If that helps you at all, You must remember here in wis. you never listen to the weatherman, he usually is never right. Just see what is out your door in the morning and you will know what kind of day you will have. Welcome to wis.

Welcome! Love to treadle as well. You will have lots of fun and find many a new friend here.

Jane 04-20-2007 11:38 AM

Ah but you see I grew up in Northern New York State and lived in New England for many, many years so I am used to unpredictable weather and ignoring the weatherman. You know what they say about New England weather.... If you don't like it wait five minutes and it will change!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

Welcome Jane. I'm from MS... We just say it's HOT down here!!

Glad to have you!!

Jane 05-22-2007 02:51 PM

I was just in Mississippi in March. I think I'll stick to going down there in the early spring and skip the summer visits. We had gorgeous weather when we were down there and returned home to 81 degree weather! Of course it dropped to 29 the next day....
