Hello Quilting Buddies,

Greetings from snowy Sitka, AK. I am new to the forum; have been a member of quilting guilds from Okinawa, Japan to, now, Sitka.
I am always seeking tips and good stories from those of you out there who know alot more than I do about quilting.
I'm looking forward to some quality time on-line with you all.
Look me up if ever you decide to take that Alaska Cruise! 8)

Regards,
Sitkaquilter

Welcome from Southern California. I am alpha female to 3 other female Labradors. I have 1 black and 2 that are white. The black and the larger white are sisters, same litter and my smaller lab is daughter to the white one. Love the lab in your avitar. Does he/she happen to be wet?

Welcome from Rhode Island.

A friend of mine went on an Alaskan cruise and stopped in Sitka and a quilt store. He bought me a table runner with Russian Santas on it. His wife wanted it but he still gave it to me for he knew how much I like quilts.

Hi there, Southern Cal. I noticed that you are also the proud mom of two serving in the military. I am ex-Navy also and spent some time stationed in San Diego.
No, my boy isn't wet - he has one of those glossy black coats. Our two yellows just don't seem to have that same glow.
Thanks for your reply. Will keep those serving in our prayers.
Jeanette

Thanks for your reply. I used to hail from the Bremerton area when I was in the Navy. I know that quilt shop in P.A. pretty well from the Shop Hops!
Happy quilting,
Jeanette

Thanks so much for your reply. I spent some time exploring VA when I was stationed in that area about 12 years ago. Loved it there - the air seens softer, somehow.
Happy quilting,
Jeanette

Hi Alaska,
I visited Alaska in 1997. I visited Sitka and fell in love with the city and people. I have a pen pal from Ketchikan. She is elderly and not well right now. I keep her in my prayers.
I love to quilt, but have slowed down, as have problems with my thumb. I enjoy hand quilting.
I hope to return to your fair state one day.
Enjoy and think spring!

grammy 03-19-2009 05:52 AM

Hello from Louisiana. Glad to have you aboard.

My husband plans to retire next year and we do want to come visit Alaska.

Hello, from Georgia,
We went on an Alaskan cruise last year. It was wonderful! We didn't stop in Sitka though. I bought some fabric in Ketchikan.{I think} I am making an attic windows quilt and backing it with fabric that was designed by an Alaskan artist. I have it on my new Grace quilting frame to hand quilt.

I'm Muriel in Fairbanks. I've lived here almost all my life and still have not taken the cruise I sure would love to one day.
How long have you lived in Sitka? Nice to see someone else from Alaska on here.
