Hello from Arizona
I am a newly empty nester (42 years old) that just recently moved from Missouri to Arizona with my husband. Still working on getting my sewing area setup after months. Pitiful I know! Love hand sewing, embroidery, applique and EPP. Should be further along with my quilting technique, but I will be honest and say I'm afraid to try new things and ruin my beautiful fabric. Turning into a fabric hoarder because of it. Need to break out of my shell and just try all the patterns I want to do. So what if it's not perfect!
Would love to connect with others! :o |

Hi from Maricopa. I grew up in MO as well, but been here for 22 years.
Don't be afraid of cutting your fabric...just dive in! |
Amanda - yes you do have a lot to visit! Haven't found a bad one yet. Mad B's in Mesa is a 'fun' one to visit. Quilters Oasis, also Mesa has lots of batiks and is another favorite of mine. I haven't been to Scottsdale Quilts yet but hope to go soon. Also the JoAnns at the 101 and Tatum is especially nice; huge and allows you to use coupons multiple times.

If you like bargain hunting, SAS in Tempe is my go to place...no frills, warehouse feel, but I get designer fabrics and batiks for $4/yard.
|
Hi Amada, If you are down the Tucson area I might recommend. Quilter's Market in eastern Tucson. My favorite place to shop. Especially on my birthday. See you there.

Welcome to AZ, it takes a year to love it then you will lose your heart to AZ. I'm in Vail, just se of Tucson. PM me if you are nearby and want to meet new quilters. Also I can tell you about all our wonderful stores

Actually, we shouldn't be telling you about the LQS's...you need to use your stash!;)

Howdy & welcome from Texas. Maybe you could start with something small like a table runner or wall hanging just to get the "feel" of the whole quilting process. If you have ANY questions please ask. There is always someone here who will help you. We want to see pictures of what you have made. Have fun with your new found hobby.
