My name is Michelle and I'm sorta new to quilting. Rather than start small and work my way to larger projects I went big first haha. I started a queen size quilt (top is done) and got no farther than that. Has been sitting for 5 years waiting to be finished. Not sure if I will finish that on my own or find an experienced person to pay and do it for me so it isn't a disaster.
That's as far as I got with any quilting honestly. I have several ideas I want to accomplish and I am looking forward to learning block patterns, finishing, and other fun techniques.

Hello there...I think the blues in your quilt are bee-u-tee-ful....finish it so you don't have a UFO before you even begin...LOL.

We moved to Wyoming 3 years ago from Kingman, Az...lived there for 20+ years....good to get out of the heat!!!

Hello and welcome from Ontario.

Miss Ice 09-25-2010 09:20 AM

I found a fabric for the back that I like and even got it sewn together, now to iron and add to the rest. woohoo!

I lived in Cheyenne Wyoming for 17 years, what part are you in Birdiemom?

Lori B. 09-25-2010 09:35 AM

Welcome from Michigan.

I live in Riverton. I like to think of it as the bannana belt of Wyoming...very little wind, lots of critters and very nice people!
Lots of quilters too!
What part of Az do you live? Moved here from Kingman 3 years ago.

We are currently in Tucson. Not sure how much longer or where to next. (Air Force)

Welcome, you are off to a good start, maybe starting something smaller now and finishing it will be the inspiration you need to complete your first quilt top. Great job BTY.

Miss Ice 09-29-2010 11:59 AM

Ok so I got it all out to put together and noticed a row was sewn the wrong way. OOPS!! (if you look carefully in the picture you can see it) I also discovered my squares weren't lined up right. So, I have picked it all apart to fix everything. All picked apart, squares all pressed, and sorted to sew back together PROPERLY lol. I woulda been so mad if I didn't notice the booboo until AFTER I had sewn on the back.

I also came up with another idea for the border to add the new backing fabric as part of the front too.
