My close friend, Debbie, drew me to this addictive site. Viewing the often stunning creativity from quilters the world over is just so much fun. I've taken classes in Maryland, where we have lived for the past 22 years, transplants from Michigan. Alas, we are moving "home" permanently in several years. We bought a log home on the (famous in MI) Au Sauble River "Up North". We are ecstatic to be returning home to this beautiful state. I look so forward to hearing the river out my window....our house was once the electric power plant in 1903!....and is now a modern, beautiful home. So, greetings from the north country!

Welcome to the QB! That sounds interesting to have turned an electric company into a house/home. We have vacationed several times near the AuSable. It is beautiful there. We love anywhere in northern MI although we live in the se corner now. Our vacation times are spent anywhere north. When we retire we plan on moving north, hopefully near Lake Michigan or even the UP.
