Hello, Bonjour from France.
Hello, born in the UK, lived in the Republic of Ireland for 17 years and now happily retired in the S. of France. Love all things sewing and want to learn how to quilt better.
My Grandma was a milliner and seamstress and used a Bradbury (made in Manchester I believe) treadle machine which unfortunately didn't survive family house sales....lack of space etc. by my parents. I have a Bernina 801 bought in 1980, a Bernette Sew and Go 1 which I purchased as back up, it's wonderful for sewing stretch fabrics and small things. Last year I scored a Bernina Jubilae (1947) in Spain for 40 euros. I am gradually cleaning it up and should be soon good to go....and sew! Lovely to meet you all, there is a wealth of information on this active site. Best wishes. Linda |

Welcome aboard. I think it's always best to live somewhere you want to live, not just where you happen to be.
I was recently gifted a modern Bernina 820 from a friend after sewing for the last 20 or so years on a vintage Remington older than me, I'm circa 1960. It's quite a change! |
