Hello from Boston :-)

Have not been sewing for a long time and wanted to start up again. Used to make my own clothes but have never quilted. I guess because my mom never did and never new anyone that quilted. I am in the process of rewiring a Singer 201-2 that I recently bought that is in mint condition. Just needs to be rewired. As soon as I am done I hope to become a very active member.

I have been lurking for a long while and finally decided to join. Thank you for having me.

HI Maria! Welcome from Washington. This is a fun place to be! :)

Thank you for the welcome. Can' wait to get my 201 rewired so I can learn and start quilting. The last things I was able to sew/make was roman shades for my kitchen.
That was 3 years ago. Really anxious to get started.

I will post some pictures of my roman shades tomorrow. A little too dark now and will take pics in the morning.

Thank you all near and far for the warm welcome.

Really getting antsy and inpatient to start sewing again. It has been a long three years. Here are some pictures of my last project and then the music died....

I made the roman shades and had to buy the valances. First thing I want to make is a quilt. My first ever. Have never quilted and really looking forward to it.

Welcome from someone who used to live in Back Bay (late 1970's) and Quincy (until 1999). Still get to the Boston area often. Love your shades, vintage!

Welcome from South Dakota! This forum has a wonderful vintage section. I lurk there all the time. I know I'm getting the bug. I have a couple of treadles that need restoration.

Thank you Anita. The Back Bay has changed so much but then again so has every other neiborhood in MA. And thank all of you for the warm welcome. Even though I just recently registered I have been lurking for a long time. First thing I do with my morning cup of coffee.

Thank you for the welcome everyone. I have not been online since I last posted. Just got a laptop today and just finished setting it up. I have a huge learning curve with windows 8. I am very computer literate but I feel like I am on vacation in a foreign land. Hope it doesn't take too long. Hoping to be very active sooner rather than later.
