Hello from Canada
Hi all, my name is Sandy. Love to sew but have never made a quilt yet. Found this board while searching for some info on how to start a quilt. I have always loved hand made quilts. I don't really know where to start to make one. I just know the colors I want it to be. It being my first, I'm thinking just blocks.
Guess I'll be reading this board for awhile to get caught up. Bye for now |
Welcome from Vermont. You are at the right fun place to learn quilting and many other things.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. If you can use youtube, the videos done by Jenny Doan for the Missouri Star Quilt co. are a good source of information. Maybe start small with a table runner to get the basics.

Welcome from NJ. If you know the colors you want, you are halfway there! Look around online or stop into a local quilt shop to look at some samples for patterns. Do you want to hand or machine piece? Hand or machine quilt? Lots of help here for you whenever you are ready.

There's so much information here to help you. If you'd prefer a more hands on type of help - check out the local library or used book store - you'll be sure to find a learn to quilt book there. |

Wow, thanks for all the welcomes. I feel at home already. I think the hardest thing for me is going to be figuring out how much fabric of each color I will need and how many different designs I will need of each color.
I started out by trying to find a quilt in the colors I wanted and couldn't find any. Another problem, the bed that I need it for is an odd size......48". |

Welcome from southeastern PA. Definitely check out Missouri Star Quilt and Jenny Doan. She makes things look easy and they are. Just keep in mind she uses a lot of precuts, you don't have to do that. Buy the yardage and cut to the size required. There are a lot of very easy quilts to start off with so do not hesitate to ask anyone here for help.
