Hi,

I'm recently transplanted (replanted?) back to Chicago and I dearly miss my quilting friends in our old home. I thought this board might help me conquer the dust my sewing machine has been accumulating since I moved--in other words, get me quilting again.

I found this board because I wanted to know what happened to Liz Porter of Fons and Porter. I record all the quilt shows I can find.

I have an Elna Quilter's Dream, and a 221 Featherweight from 1947.

Welcome from your neighbor to the east. You'll love it here...but set your timer because time flies when you're having fun and you won't notice you've been here for hours until it's too late. :)

Hello and welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here. From what I understand Liz decided to retire and spend more time with her family. I miss her.

I have the same two machines and the FW is the same year. I don't use my Elna but kept it as a back up. I love that machine too. Welcome from Alaska. I use the FW for take out.

grandmerequilter 12-05-2010 10:57 AM

It finally worked. I kept doing the same thing. Have no idea why it didn't take before. Anyway, glad to be here.

grandmerequilter 12-05-2010 11:00 AM

Yes, I think I'm going to take the FW south with us this year. If you don't use your Elna, what is your main machine now?

Maia B 12-05-2010 11:13 AM

Welcome! I just joined recently and have found so much generosity, wisdom, and kindness here. Enjoying the first snow? I'm in denial, inside and tidying up sewing room. Recently traded in a 20 year old basic Singer for a Babylock Quest Plus.
