Hi there, everyone. My name is Janet. I was referred to this site to look at the One Block Wonder, which I have found to be the most amazing thing I have seen in a long while. At first, it looked to be quite tedious, but as I watched my friend start hers, I soon became "sold" on the idea and hope to start one as soon as I can purchase the book and fabric. I have two grown children in Ohio, a cat, a dog, and a s/o, Don. I am originally from Houston, TX. I look forward to learning and sharing ideas on this site. Thank you for having me :)

Welcome to QB! Glad to have you join us. Just had a wonderful couple move into our area from Conroe! I do believe they grow good people as well as quilters there. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.

Yes it would be fun. Janet is my friend and I have another who lives near me. I am close to WillowBrook Mall.
The 3 of us and who ever else wants to come are meeting at my house this Sat to work on OBWs.

Welcome to the site from Australia! Quilters are always on a mission aren't they? The hardest bit is choosing! All the best, Therese

Hi, and welcome from Central Texas. I have a friend who lives in Conroe and her nephew runs a retreat center there. It's a really nice city.

janetkay 04-15-2010 10:18 AM

Hi Sandy. My s/o went to Reagan in the early 60's. I went to Lamar in the mid 60's.

If you will look under tutorials, there is one for the OBW. Having watched Wini cut hers out and reading the tutorial, I have a real good understanding of it. I have not received my book, yet, but it is my understanding that Cutebuns Tutorial on this board is much better.

I have torn up my sewing room going thru fabric and have determined I need to go shopping LOL. I hope to do this tomorrow and get started cutting on Saturday at Wini's house.

Hi and welcome from Oklahoma.

janetkay 04-16-2010 10:40 AM

Abycat,
If you will go to the main page, scroll all the way down. You will see a link to all of the postings and tutorial for One Block Wonder. Kaleidoscope Quilts and Stack N Whack. Click on that. Read thru some of the postings and you will see and learn a lot. Watch for more links to tutorials in some of the postings.

Hope this helps.
