I have been enjoying reading all the topics on the boards as well as all the brilliant pictures of completed quilts. I am totally in awe of you all. I am a true beginner, I am so new that I haven't actually started yet as I am not sure as to where or how I should begin. Any advise gratefullt recieved. I have dreamt for years about doing quilting but never actually had the time, well I am now retired and am raring to go. But how that is the question.

Hi, welcome from Minnesota,US!

My suggestion would be to take a beginners quilt class. That's all it took for me to get started. Good luck!!!

Welcome! There are easy patterns on this board. Look in the tutorial section. Is there a quilt shop near you or a guild that would offer lessons?

We have lots of quilters from the UK. Find a small group and get started on something small and easy. Also if you click on chat room at the top of this page, there are people who will answer anything, anytime.
Welcome from hot Oklahoma, mid United States. Have been to London area, Wales and Scotland. Love your country!

Hello and welcome from Northern Indiana! I suggest starting with a small project, possibly a tablerunner and working your way up! You will find so much info on this board that you won't have any trouble starting. Everyone here is so willing to help out, too. Enjoy!
