Hello! Does anyone else dream in fabric (or is that just me?)
Hiya! My name is Jessica. :)
I'm a new quilter living in North Carolina (with ties to Michigan and Sweden) and I must confess...I am utterly in love with this craft. My dear husband has fully accepted I may never be cured (as long as he gets a nice quilt every so often.) I'm into the more modern style quilts, but I love them all. <3 And I love, love, love to handquilt. Such a zen experience, much like knitting. haha I have been looking for a nice, active quilting area to post on! I think I've found it. :) |

My husband doesn't understand why I "need" more than one sewing machine, or fabric other than the current project.
I tell him it's like his guitars: they each "play" a little different or have a special purpose. So, he has a couple of electrics, a few acoustics, high end, low end, accessories, magazines, he goes to guitar stores and shows. I ask him why he needs to have more than one pick, more than one sheet of music, etc. It's good to have a meaningful hobby, and it doesn't have it to be explained--or maybe CAN'T be! We like what we like. We get your obsession. If it's a sickness, this is your support group!! |
Howdy from Oklahoma! Welcome to the Board. I shopped quilt stores in NC & SC last month, what a treat! Hope you get a chance to go by the Cotton Museum in SC it was truly awesome!

Welcome from New Hampshire! No, I don't dream in fabric, but I often will fall asleep thinking of the quilts I am working on and quilts I want to make. This is when I have the "eureka" moments...working out problems with my quilts.
QB is a great forum and all the members are so very kind and helpful. You will enjoy being a member! |
I don't dream about my quilts, but I do go upstairs into my sewing room and just sit amid all the STUFF! I love it. And I have 20 sewing machines. I have been known to be sitting in Church and be thinking about all of the machines and what they need to have done to them to be made perfect. I love 'em all. Are they my Idols? I hope not.

Welcome from another North Carolinian (near Charlotte, NC). I love the modern quilts as well and became seriously hooked on quilting very quickly. Hope you enjoy the site. There is so much to learn here.
Barny, funny you mentioned thinking about quilting in Church. I was looking at our stained glass windows a few weeks ago before the service began and noticed a panel that immediately made me think "that would make a nice quilt pattern". Ha! |
Hello and welcome from Australia. No I don't dream about fabric. LOL
