Hello,
I'm a quilter living in East Texas within walking distance to one of my favorite quilting stores. I worked there for two years before deciding to go back to school and obtain a nursing degree. I've been on a 6 week break from school and have enjoyed piecing and quilting almost daily. I have found myself on this site reading post well into the noon hour...I love this site! I look forward to sharing and meeting other quilters. Thanks for such a wonderful site. Mikki |
Hi and welcome from another Texan! Good luck with your school. My dil just started nursing school here this week.

Thank you... and wish her good luck, lots of studying to do!

Welcome aboard from Illinois. I'll be in North East Texas, the Longview, Jefferson, Marshall area in late May/early June. Any suggestions for fabric stores within an hour or so of there?

Yes, actually, the quilt store I worked at. It's called Stitchin Heaven and its located in Quitman Texas, which is a small town about 45 minutes to an hour west of Longview. There are a couple of small shops in Tyler and another in Paris which a bit further away. I dont know of any in the immediate area that you will be in. There may be some over in Louisiana. Perhaps someone has a "Quilters Companion"(if I remember the name correctly , its the traveling quilters guide to quilt shops in America) and can help locate more. Enjoy your visit

I found a very tiny one and a Hancocks in a town West of Marshall last year, it might have been Longview, I don't remember. But I'll write these down and see if we have time to visit any of them. Since DH and son take son's vehicle and go RC flying I'll have my car to explore in. Thanks for the info.
