Quiltingboard Forums - Hello Everyone

My name is Shiree and I live in a coastal town called Hervey Bay in Queensland, Australia that is known for it's hospitality to tourists particularly during whale watching time. A short ferry trip will take visitors across the Bay to Fraser Island - the largest sand island in the world. It's very pretty and there's lots of inspiration for quilting around here along with lots of enthusiasm.

I started quilting many years ago but due to full time work, I've not had the time to put into it that I would have liked so I'm still trying new things and doing the rounds in different styles and methods. I particularly enjoy the piecing and quilting but not so much the pinning or spraying! I was fortunate to recently be able to purchase the sit down Sweet Sixteen quilter so it's a steep learning curve and lots of practice for me.

I taught music in high school for 22 years and now I've moved to the primary school four days a week and I'm loving teaching the little ones with one day a week just for quilting. How lucky am I? lol
