Thank you all for such a WARM AND ABUNDANT WELCOME!!!!It was so very nice to open up my mail with so many responses!!.....Thank you-thank you -thankyou for saying hello.....I do have a question too...Last night I finished the tree part of my "Tree of New Life" Quilt....I started to cut out leaves and I got frustrated very quickly...They didn't look at ALL like leaves...When I went to bed I just told myself that I would not be able to put leaves on this tree, anyway today I had an idea of tracing a real oak leaf and using fabric paint and paint the leaves on the tree....Would anyone like to comment...I think it's a good idea and it would be quicker than applique.... I am open to suggestions, and the simpler the better....Thanks!! Debby

Welcome from N California!

Posting a picture sounds good, so others can get an idea of what is going on.
Even though I've never done it before, I'd like to suggest that you do a sample of the painted leaves to see what they would look like. Also, bear in mind that the leaves could very well look more different than you think once you do quilting on it. Maybe use a different color thread to suggest the veins or whatever they're called.
