First post done yesterday after reading for some time- what a great resource this is, and so friendly.
I am English, have lived in south west France for almost 18 years - in quite a rural area, beautiful countryside, 1 hour to nearest major cities. With OH (who was very early retired) had small affair cultivating specialist fuchsias after arrival for a few years, very enjoyable and successful - now newly retired. Our previous lives were within the motor industry.
Started patchwork & quilting 3 years ago ""to see if I liked it". Bought a basic 3rd hand machine. 4 months later new machine. 6 months ago became proud owner of a Janome 6600. Totally self taught from books, internet, and forums - 1, nearly 2 rooms, taken over. Currently doing lots of free motion practice, I have a queen size pieced ready to sandwich.
Have made smaller quilts, and for local fetes and Christmas markets, have made childrens' items, wall hangings, ladies and childrens' bags, table sets etc.
Much time taken up with gardening, love a good read, 2 energetic Yorkies, generally wondering where the hours go.
Cant figure out how to include pix, will post some soon as I do!
