Hi there - Welcome from Central TX Hill Country. You'll love this msg. board. I just recently joined & they are a wonderful, friendly group of quilters here w/lots of tips & help.

Have a blessed Sunday.

I agree with you on bells and whistles on a sewing maching. I refuse to buy a "computer" sewing maching because it can cost so much if anything in the circuitry dies!
Bernina has some all-mechanical models still, I believe.

Hi and welcome from on the road. I agree with Murphy. As long as the machine you are using does what you need it to do, stick with what you know. You'll know when it's time to upgrade. Hope you enjoy yourself on the Board.

I'm looking at new machines due to a few issues i'm running into with my super duper basic model. It doesn't do well with tensions with different thicknesses of fabric.

Hello from Florida.

Sounds like you have jumped in with both feet! If your current machine is doing the job for you, don't feel obligated to upgrade. There is always time for that in the future.
