Hi Franie,
What are you currently working on in the great state of Alaska? Here in De we are awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Earl. As you can tell, not much interesting happens in DE. So we get really excited about hurricanes :-) Thanks for the welcome letter.
Lena

Hi Lena, welcome to the boards. I'm just north of you in southeastern PA.

You sound like a busy gal! I'm so happy to hear about your involvement with Quilts of Valor. I'm passionate about Quilts of Valor also. I'm a longarmer, and I love doing these quilts for the soldiers.

I read that there are 34,000 American soldiers wounded from the wars Iraq and Afghanistan. The Quilts of Valor website states that 31,082 quilts have been awarded so far. There are 4,000 soldiers with Purple Hearts and without quilts! If anyone else is interested in helping, please check it out at www.qovf.org.
