My name is Becca. I have been quilting for 32 yrs. I seem to lean toward more applique in recent years than other even though I do a lot of pieced quilts also. I am also a caregiver/maid to our 15 parrots, 6 finches and 1 huge dog Shiloh who is 5 months she is great pyrenees and newfie mix hubby calls her a horse not a dog. and she is inside girl being taught that her job is to protect house with the parrots, and 2 regular size ones a chocolate lab and a newfie/shephard mix.that are grown. I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.

I started quilting when I was pregnant with my oldest son.My mother was a quilter and I sort of picked it up from her. I was already familiar with sewing as I made my clothes all through school. so for me quilting was the next stop. If it is fabric I can do it from upholstery to men's custom made clothing. I do most handcrafts with the exdeption of needlepoint, and knitting. lol the knitting needles don't seem to like me.

so I look forward to a great bunch of ladies and learning and sharing of ideas.

Oh hun that is my 19 yr old Moluccan Fluffy. I do have a Goffin and a Umbrella. lol I have 14 parrots ranging from Cockatoos to Macaws to African Greys. Then some of the smaller conures, tiels, a rosella and a pocket parrot.

here is a photo of my Goffin Birdie, he is 14 yrs old. and special needs I am his 4th home and have had him since he was 6 yrs old. he came from 2 homes that abused him and he has seizures thank god he has not had one in a good while.

Hi Becca...My name is Corry and I am from Okeechobee, Florida. I have just begun quilting about 3yrs ago and definately hooked. I have pretty much sewn all my life and made alot of my kids clothes as they were growing up. Now that I have started quilting I have little interest in making clothes...lol I also have alot of pets. A couple cocketiels, a kitty and 2 chihuahuas. Those are my indoor babies. I have several kitties outside and we have 3 horses. My next quilt I have just begun will be a horse quilt for me. I have saved fabrics with horses on them for several years and planned to make a large quilt with horses on it. I am using my embroidery machine to embroider horses on some of my blocks. I am sure it won't be the only horse quilt I will make as I think a few of my granddaughters are going to want one too...lol Well I wanted to welcome you to the group and I am sure you will enjoy it here. Also looking forward to seeing some of your quilts.

I have a 5 month old great pyrenees/newfie mix that as a flock working dog I am training for in the house for her to make the parrots her flock to protect along with me. outside we have a chocolate lab and a part shepard/newfie mix. so we have all large dogs but hubby calls Shiloh a mini horse.

Hi and welcome from Lakeland, FL. My DSIL and her DH raise pure breed Newfoundland's. They own five, but do have the land for them to run. You have made beautiful quilts!!

Thank you and I own property in Auburndale. Currently stepmom is living there. (dad passed away last yr.) Part of my growing up years was in Winter Haven then we moved to Tampa...So am real familiar with the area down there. Yes shiloh is a big girl. with a great personality.
