This is fantastic!!! Thank you all for your warm welcome.

I was lead to a site "ShellyQ's tutorial". It's so great, I think I'll at least be able to start a quilt. But I have
one question (at the moment) what's with the paper pieces? What's the purpose? Why not just cut the fabric in the shapes you need and sew them together without the paper?

Would someone please send me a list of quilting accessories a beginner needs to start with. I have the usual, straight pins, EZ Quilting washout pencils and a sewing machine...that's about it.

Thanks so much for all your help.

PS: ShellyQ, you have some beautiful examples in your tutorial. Thank you.
