Hi my name is Rachel and I am 18 and will be 19 in December. I have always been interested in quilting and recently decided to finally learn. Could some one tell me where to start? Places I could go to get lessons, materials I would need.

One place to start is with a quilting magazine. If you don't want to purchase one, you can probably read one in the library. They usually have patterns as well as basic instructions. Then read the tutorials here on this board. There is so much to learn here. Then ask questions of stuff you don't understand. We all keep learning more about our hobby, passion, obsession (?).

Welcome from Arkansas. I also think the library is a good place to start. I googled "beginning a quilt" and here is site - http://quilting.about.com/od/beginni..._Beginners.htm
Search online and on this forum. GOOD LUCK! |
Welcome from Brooklyn! Youtube also has a lot of useful stuff. Also, if you know of a quilting shop near you, they often hold classes.
