Welcome to the best site on the web! ;)
I think most are pretty tight with their stash, so good luck on that one.

Welcome! I know you are going to love this site. I agree with Miranda, everyone is pretty attached to their fabric stash, so good luck with that..haha! :D

Welcome to the site Nicholle! Do you have a Wal-mart or quilt store close by? Most times you will find quilt squares for a minimum price....25 cents or 5 for a $1.00 or even (at Wally World) rolls of scrap pieces or end of bolts to help build your stash for next to nothing in cost. May even be able to find some fabric at the 2nd hand stores, or other discount places. Don't forget to check your garage sales!!! You can find treasures galore for little or nothing. Is it a period scrap piece or just all over mix? You never know there may be someone with just what you are looking for.

Welcome, I'm also somewhat new....but, I'm sorry...we all love our scraps.
Check with an Alteration Shop..ask them to save their scraps for you. They will be glad to do this for you, offer them alittle compensation for it, it helps with the incentive to store these until you're ready to pick them up!
When I had my alteration, custom sewing business, I save all those scraps from dress and pant hems, custom sewing projects, and gave them away to quilters...now I'm a quilter, with no scraps!!!!!

Hello Nichole, Welcome to the word of quilting.... as you can see most everyone keeps the scraps. All those who PP (paper piece) save the smallest of scraps also. I do shop my local thrift shopd here and do find some very good deals. I sew for Linus quilts and we give away to childern in need. Connie

Welcome to the best little site on the 'net, Nicholle!

I would suggest also that you check yard sales for old cotton shirts that are able to be cut into squares for very little money. There are lots of churches and church groups that have 'gently used' shops, I was able to build my stash for very little cash a couple of years ago when I was a tad broke, course I keep myself broke adding things to the stash! Good luck on the hunt for items to use in your quilt top.

Sharon
