Hi, I have never quilted but want to start. I have no idea where to begin though. Thought I would poke around on here and see if any I can find where to begin. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Thanks

Whatever questions you have just ask, so many wonderful talented people they can help you in any way  Have you thought about what type of quilting you want to try ? I would suggest start small and simple so you don't get overwhelmed and give up. Just my two cents worth

Hello, and welcome from Missouri! Don't know what is available in your area, but look for a local quilt shop (LQS) and see when they are offering beginning classes, or check to see if the commmunity college has classes. Look in the library for information also! Check to see if there is a guild in the area for more one on one help.
Then, be sure to ask lots of questions! |
Welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here.

Greetings from CA. When I decided to start, I took a sampler class at a local quilt shop. I had to buy all the goodies that go with modern-day quilting (mat, rulers, rotary cutter, FABRIC, lol) I started with a book titled Quilts, Quilts, Quilts that introduces a lot of beginner patterns. I recommend that you check out other beginner books, particularly those that work with fat quarters.
Have fun. |
Hi Angela and welcome from Ninnie in NC.
You have come to the right place and you will get plenty of help here. I would maybe start with a small wall hanging or a table runner, something small. A 4 patch or 9 patch is an easy one to learn. Good luck! Ninnie |
