Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself.

I enjoy the machine piecing part of quilting but will find someone else to do the hand or machine quilting. Can't seem to get the hang of either.

A few things about me:
-I am a teacher (a recent career change).
-Hubby and I are empty nesters.
-I look forward to rainy days as well as "snow" days when I can spend time at the sewing machine.
-I have fabric that I feel is too beautiful to cut so I just admire it.

I am glad I found this forum that looks like it is very active. I am looking forward to learning much from the postings and will try to respond when I feel I have some knowledge on the subject.

Hello from Juneau, Alaska. What grade do you teach. Remember kids love art projects and I can think of many differnt ways you could use quilting in the class room with different art mediums, ie, fabric paints, crayons, tye dying, etc. You could also make seasonal wall hangins for fall, winter, spring, summer or one for each month. I can see you could have lots of fun here.
