Hello.....its not Adele
I have been quilting for approx 14 years. As a child / teenager growing up in UK, I was mesmerised and inspired by the beautiful quilts grandma used to make on Walton's Mountain; oh how I wished I lived a big clapboard house with a wrap around porch married to John Walton .... I married my own 'John Walton' in 1992 ... no wrap around porch or sawmill, I live in SW London and I have finally accepted it's never going to happen. I often browse this website, view the stunning quilts and see how much everyone supports each other and the guidance / advice offered , so decided to take the plunge and join.

Welcome. I hope you enjoy this board as much as I do.

Welcome from SC Texas. Happy you joined us. I spent the first six years in a house like that. No sawmill but DD owned the general store. Moved to town when I was six and I always missed the joy of my first six years out in the country.

Welcome! Country living has it's own drawbacks and challenges. Hope you enjoy making some quilts of you own, like Grandma Walton's.

Welcome from Southern California! You are not the only one that would love to live in the Walton home - it was beautiful! I would be happy with a large from porch - but that is not going to happen for me, so will be thankful for the wonderful home I do have. Again - welcome!!!

Welcome - most of us are nice most of the time!

Love the quote. And totally understand wherever one lives there are challenges andI appreciate I have an an idealised view but I cherish it and if I feel if had a wraparound porch I could cope with anything , apart from Erin ( the 2nd eldest daughter ) ha ha . Thankyou so very much for taking the effort to welcome me , I really appreciate it x

a girl after my own heart , great that even though we live thousands of miles apart we all remember and have very fond memories of waltons mountain .
But quilting gives me an essence of grandma, but I can't get my hubbie into a pair of grandpa's dungarees .. Thankyou very much for the lovely welcome , it means so much X |

Welcome from Southern California. I always wanted to visit your country since both of my Great Great Grandfathers on my Dad's side immigrated from England in the 1850s. I would trade Walton's mountain for Downton Abbey any day of the week! I hope you find the same terrific inspiration that I find here at the QB.

Welcome, Mrs. M. Our family watched The Waltons every Thursday night for years! I always wanted a big family, a big table, a handy hubby , and live music in the house. I have four kids, one named Ben, a big table, a handy hubby and sometimes he plays guitar. The pianist and drummer is grown and gone. I never paid attention to the quilts. I was eyeing Jason! My sister pointed out that I married a guy who looks like him! And his mom looked like Olivia Walton! All subconscious things that I smiLe about in hindsight. Welcome to the Board.
Goodnight, Mary Ellen! |
