Hi! I'm new to the site and I think it is awesome. I read different things on it for 2 evenings and then joined up. I started quilting about 1 1/2 years ago and haven't done much of anything else since! I am totally addicted. I sew every day. I just got an EQ6 program that I'm on Lesson 3 of. I have made alot of quilts, quilt tops, and throws and given most of them away to friends and family. I still have a lot to learn and it sounds like this is the place to learn. My goal is to learn to make compasses, kaleidoscopes, lone stars and sun compasses. Nothing to easy for me. LOL I'm a glutton for punishment. I just think those types are sooo beautiful!!! I'm glad to be here and thanks for the great site!

Thank You!!! I saw a picture of one of these Carpenter's Stars on eBay once and I fell in love with it. I made me a pattern for it and started making them. I have made 2 quilts from this block now. One had 56 blocks in all colors for my daughter and measured 100" x 114". The 2nd had 30 blocks and I was hired to make it. It measured 72" x 85". I've made over 100 of these blocks. It takes me about 4 hours to make one. There are 104 pieces in each block. They are 12". This is my very favorite block!
