I've been reading on this site for a while, and have really enjoyed it. I love looking at everyone's beautiful quilts. I've been quilting for a long time, but am just now trying to learn to FMQ. It's frustrating and rewarding all at the same time!

Waving across the border at yah and welcome, welcome. Do not give up on free motion quilting; it is so much fun. I too am beginning to teach myself this unique quilting function and having a lot of fun. Would like to hear how others master it. I just drew around and around the same hand-drawn lines until I got it down in my brain and then took to the machine. Here is a picture of one of my attempts. Please share your thoughts and photos.

Thanks. My avatar quilt is a lap size that I made for my niece who is battling cancer. I wanted her to have something handmade and cheerful to cuddle in as she takes her treatments.

Hello and welcome to the Quilting Board.
What type of machine are you using for your FMQ? Oh, and what part of Kansas are you in? |
Right now I just have a simple Singer machine. I would love to upgrade to a machine with a larger throat, but that's still in the future. I mainly do baby quilts or lap quilts, just because they're easier to maneuver in my machine.
I'm in a very small town in Southeast Kansas. How about you? |
