Hello from Maryland

Hey there!!

I'm a 10+ year Quilter from Maryland. I'm in Harford County for anyone familiar with the area, and to be alittle more specific, I'm between Havre de Grace, Darlington & Churchville.

I actually have been sewing since I was about 6 and my grandmother let me use her treadle machine to make barbie clothes from scrap fabric she had. From then on, I sewed, right up to when I went to college and studied fashion design. After that...well, let's say, I didn't persue a career in the fashion industry. I worked in my husband's body shop. But I sewed for our home and children.

I've always been on the creative side so sometimes I like to twist patterns to suit my needs or tastes. I've designed a few of my own things and would really like to get into the pattern designing aspect of Quilting.

Recently my husband purchased a used (very gently) Longarm machine and frame for me. I LOVE IT!!! Instead of my finished tops waiting for me to take them to be quilted or quilting them on my little sewing machine I'm actually getting things done!!!! And it's a great feeling knowing I did it from beginning to end!!!!

I also belong to a group, The Wednesday Wonders. We consider ourselves a Guild, and at any given meeting we could have up to 12 of us. We meet every other Wednesday in my basement for dessert and quilting. It's a chance for us to get together doing something we love and share our love of quilting and our lives.

So, that's it for me. I'm glad to have found these boards!!
Amy
