Hello everyone, I recently joined the Quilting Board. I am 57 (in 2 days), married, have 4 dogs and am retired on disability. I enjoy reading, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, weaving, and other forms of needle crafts. I also enjoy going out with my husband target shooting. Since Mena is a small town, most people have to find ways to entertain themselves, besides being a couch potato. Feel free to send me messages as I am home all day. God Bless. Jeanniebelle

Welcome from California! I grew up in a little town, really little town. The population was 316. How big is the town you live in?
We always found things to do. I learned to sew at9 and when I was in high school, I would make a dress a week, and after I got out of school, I made my wedding dress and two bridesmaid dresses for two of my best friends weddings. My Mom and Grandma used to make a quilt, the aGranny Opal took the door frame off our bedroom door one day and made a quilt frame out of it, and she and Mom quilted a quilt in one day so they could put the frame back up before my Dad got home from work. I have that quilt now. The used old blankets for the batting, and it was my favorite blanket they used in it. I will never forget that day. That was my first real sence of how a quilt was made. |
