This is an interesting website with folks from all over... how neat! I live in Michigan, work in Indiana, and have vacation homes (which I rent out) in North Carolina and Florida.

Quilting is not something I do very often...since working is a necessity and quilting is a de-stresser and fun. There is never enough time for me to quilt.

I am working on several projects... one has taken a full year as it is a king pinwheel all hand needle turned applique. I have 1 1/2 borders yet to complete... each border takes about one month IF I spend at least 7-8 hours each week on it. While I love what I am creating... I am looking forward to getting it out of my hands and ON my bed... and starting something totally new and different.

Turtles is a tribute to Anna Maria Island Sea Turtles as the island is a refuge and sea turtles are protected. (Florida)

Hi, Welcome from an ex Michiganer! I used to live in Sandusky... lovely country... BAD weather!
Your quilts are beautiful!

Baywatch quilter 01-13-2010 02:32 PM

Thanks... it's been a long time since I was in Colorado. I think you are having the same weather I am having... SNOW and COLD.

Both the photos were made from patterns...though I NEVER leave a pattern alone and always make changes. More often I start with a pattern for the IDEA and then create something from there.

Hi and welcome from the Saginaw Bay area! Yes, Sandusky is lovely, but can have lousy weather. It can here, too, but I just wouldn't trade my Michigan seasons for anything else.

Glad to have you here.

Baywatch quilter 01-21-2010 05:27 PM

No, I live 2 miles north of the MI-IN border... 5 miles north of Notre Dame U. Our local quilt club is called The Piecemakers. But, since I started working in Indiana 7 years ago, I stopped going...by the time I get home from work I don't want to go out...for any reason. I still keep up with some of the folks and we do a quilt show together now and then and an annual quilt retreat in Shipshewanna.

enjoylife950 01-21-2010 07:51 PM
