Hi everyone! I am new to this whole message board thing, but I am not new to quilting. Quilting has been my favorite hobby for several years. In the past year or so I have gone from all handquilting to machine quilting due to arthritis in my hands. The sad part is I'm not old...only 34. Anyway, my latest "addiction" is charm squares...I have no idea what I will ever do with them all, but I can't help myself...I just have to buy them. I am looking for a pattern or at least some suggestions for a pattern for a particular project that I would like to make. I saw in a magazine several months ago a picture of a quilt someone had made from men's ties. I would like to do this for my dad, but I don't know how to make a "collar" for the shirt. In the picture the squares looked like shirts with collars. I would dearly love to know how to do this without using actual shirts. Can anyone help me?

Hi, and welcome auntmel! Do you still have the magazine that you could scan in and post? Don't be afraid of being a younger quilter....I'm 29! I am so excited to be a part of this msg board and learn from quilters with years of experience!
