Hello from Missouri

Hi Everyone
I happen on to the Quilting Board while trying to find information about
a stitch regulator. I have been sewing for years and enjoy making baby quilts.
I'v made a few full size quilts, but have trouble getting the backs straight
and wrinkle free.

Thank you for adding me to your quilting group.:)

Welcome from central Florida. I've been quilting for over 35 years and I still struggle to keep the back smooth when I make large quilts and I've tried every method available.

Vera G,

Welcome from Table Rock Lake ! ! !

Getting the backs smooth can be tough when doing free motion on a sewing machine. Do you have, or are you looking t get a quilting machine ??

Where are you, roughly, located in Missouri?

Dave

Hi Dave,

I have a Janome 6600 quilting/sewing machine,
and bought a Hinterberg quilting frame to help keep the backs of the quilts
from wrinkling ans straight, but I'm not happy with the stitching of the machine!
Some stitches are small and others are too long.

I was told that if I had a stitch regulator it would help make the stitches even.

Hope one of these days to find a long arm quilting machine at a low price to use with the frame.

I'm located in Willow Springs, Mo

Do you have one for sale? Or know where to find one?

Thank you
Vera

Thanks Everyone
for the warm welcome to the quilting group!

I look forward to learning new things and getting to know everyone.

And yes I do spend way too much time on the computer!! LOL
but I enjoy it and always find new ideas and thing I would like to make,
now if I only had a twin maybe I would get more of them made.

But no such luck, it's just me!! :)

Vera,

I do have an OLDER one for sale that was made in the 1970's by A-1 Quilting in Springfield, MO. We got it 2nd hand and have used it for about 14 years. It does not have stitch regulator or anything fancy. It is a free motion SHORT ARM quilting machine that uses pantograph patterns. I don't think it would be much help for your problem of keeping the backing tight. I would suggest checking out A-1 Quilting or B SewInn, both in Springfield. They would probably be the best places to check.

We are trying to sell ours, as we are upgrading to a new to us Baby Lock with quiltmotion. We are getting it from B SewInn at a price that we just could NOT refuse.

Just for reference, below are pictures of the machine we are trying to sell. If you or anyone else is interested, PM me here for details and price.

Dave
